DONATE
Thank you for taking the time to look through my site and clicking Donations.
They are what make this life possible, allowing me to create, live and maintain passion
for music. Donations allow me time to write new songs, learn new styles, perform for
charities, teach underprivileged children and grow musically day by day. Costs cover a
wide variety of necessities such as duplication, album mastering, recording studio time,
marketing, travel, album design, web sites, even down to eating. They are all part of what
makes my world come together.
Since I do all my own work (including the production, mixing, marketing, managing,
booking, organizing outsourcing, publicizing, street teaming, cooking and cleaning) and
have very little help with any funding. You can see how much gratitude I have toward
such awesome acts of kindness.
I am also proud to announce that all donations greater than 20 dollars will graciously
receive a complimentary hard copy of my new 3D Tattoo CD.
Sincerely,
Keith Dickehrofe

Interview
Q: Tell us about your act, music style and background.
A: There’s a lot of influence that enters into my music. Inspiration almost comes from nowhere at times. I might hear something as ‘out’ as a woman yelling at her boyfriend on the phone and want to go grab my cello for an hour or so, haha, It’s really quite strange like that because moments just happen and you have to take advantage of them before they disappear. Lately I’ve been playing Irish Fiddle tunes to start getting a feel for the style, which really is an amazing culture of tunes in itself. The latest act I have uses electronic components and looped cello, which are constructed live. It is a solo act, being very experimental and progressive, where I incorporate energetic synths, forward drums and acoustic cello. A culmination of my experience in production/DJ with a natural elegant feel of Cello roots. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for quite some time however had not had the time to do. I’m very excited about it and can’t wait for the first live performance of it!
Q: What have been some important gigs or venues you’ve played?
A: Some of the most amazing responses that I’ve had from my audience have not even happened in venues. When I get the opportunity to simply jam on the street, I simply love it. I’ve had crazy things happen there and it’s almost magical in a way. In this kind of a scenario, your audience is not forced to watch you like in a bar or a club. Instead they have the full freedom to stop and listen to something that interests them. As a musician I get a great amount of fulfillment when someone comes up to talk with me, give me a business card to keep in touch, show their kids something new, dance or even put some money in my tip jar! Haha- I love playing in places that really enhance the experience as well. Music halls, Arena Stages, Studios and Festivals are my favorites but a lot of the fun comes from my audience’s expressions. That is what pushes the live sessions for me.
Q: What are you working on now?
A: I’ve just finished my first Electronic Solo Cello Album entitled 3D Tattoo. I produced, played, mixed and released this by my own accord and am extremely proud of the great response my listeners have had. It just hit digital shelves on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Napster, CD Freedom, Rhapsody, eMusic and NimbitMusic. I expect to have a thousand physical copies with 3D artwork to be released at the end of January. If you’d like a pre-order they are available through my website www.KeithDickerhofe.com.
In the near future I’m beginning an Album with a good friend Adam Platties and will begin my second Cello record this year. I continue to DJ regularly to support this cello habit and will continue creating through all the undying support I’ve received. I am beginning to book a summer tour for 3D Tattoo and working on making the live show one to remember. Currently, I am in search of an amazing VJ to complete the duo and give the music its visual depth. Thanks to everyone who has helped out and I deeply appreciate all of your donations. If it weren’t for those none of this would be possible.
